Jini Dosa is one of the popular street food in India. It is made by spreading the dosa batter in a circular motion on the iron tawa or non-stick tawa. For street style Jini dosa you can add your choice of veggies. I have added carrot, beetroot, capsicum, and onion along with butter and cheese and aloo masala which we use in masala dosa. You can also add paneer if you like. For mixing all vegetables together and giving a little tangy taste we add tomato ketchup to the dosa. Your dosa is ready to be served with sambar and chutney.
Ingredients:
1 med finely chopped Onion
1/2 Capsicum finely chopped
1 cup grated Carrot
1 cup grated Beetroot
1 cup Aloo Masala
3 tbsp Butter
Cheese cubes
Oil
Salt as per taste
1 tbsp Red Chilli powder
1 tbsp Garam Masala
Tomato ketchup
Finely chopped Coriander leaves
Dosa Batter
Method:
1) Take an iron tawa/non-stick tawa, heat it on medium-high flame. Initially, clean the tawa by adding few drops of oil and sprinkle some water and wipe it with a tissue paper.
2) Now take a ladle full of dosa batter and spread it on the tawa in a circular motion.
3) Add oil on the edges to make the dosa crisp. Add butter in the center and all the chopped and grated vegetables, now add 1 tbsp aloo masala with 2 tbsp of ketchup. Sprinkle some red chili powder, garam masala, and salt as per taste. Mix everything nicely and spread it on the dosa evenly.
4) Now add grated cheese.
5) Check if the dosa started leaving the tawa, it means the dosa is cooked. Slowly with the help of spatula scrape the sides and check if the dosa has not stuck to the tawa.
6) Now fold the dosa as per your preference and serve hot with sambar and coconut chutney.
