Pasta is an Italian dish that is made out of flour, majorly wheat flour, and the dough is made with water or eggs. There are many variations and shapes to Pasta, like Macaroni, Penne, Spiral Fusilli, Fiocchi, and much more. Wheat flour pasta is always a healthy choice to make your pasta's at home. Wheat flour pasta are easily available in the grocery stores. Suji/Rawa Pasta are available too in the stores easily.
White Sauce is very easily made with the ingredients available at home - Maida, Butter, and Milk. For making a white sauce, the ratio of the ingredients is very important to get that creamy texture like a restaurant. The ratio is 1:1:10 (Butter:Maida: Milk)
White Sauce Pasta can be the best option for snacks or dinner. You can make your Pasta with the choice of your vegetables. The veggies that go well with the Pasta are Broccoli, Zucchini, Sweet corn, Carrots, and Bell Peppers.
Let's start preparing our White Sauce Pasta with the following ingredients.
Ingredients:
For boiling Pasta
1 cup Spiral Pasta
2 cups Water
1 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Salt
For stir fry Vegetables
1 small chopped Bell Pepper ( Red, Green and Yellow)
1/2 cup boiled sweet corn
1 tsp Oil
For White Sauce
1 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Maida
1 cup milk + 2 tbsp Milk
1 tsp Mixed Herbs
1 tsp Chili Flakes
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
Salt as per taste
Grated cheese
Method:
Step 1
Boiling Pasta
1) Heat a non-stick pan/kadhai, add 2 cups of water, bring it to boil.
2) Now add 1 tbsp oil, 1/2 tsp salt and 1 cup Pasta to the boiling water.
3) Let it cook for about 4-5 minutes. Do not overcook the pasta.
4) Cook it for about 80% and then strain the water.
Step 2
Stir-frying Vegetables
1) Heat a pan and add 1 tsp of oil and stir fry your choices of vegetables.
2) Do not cook it fully as we need the crunchiness in our pasta.
Step 3
White sauce
1) Heat a non-stick pan/kadhai, add 1 tbsp butter, to that add 1 tbsp of maida, give it a nice mix and make sure there are no lumps formed.
2) Once the Maida turns aromatic add 1 cup milk. Keep stirring continuously to avoid lumps in the sauce. Cook for 4-5 minutes until thick.
3) Once the sauce is thick and smooth, now add 1 tsp Mixed Herbs, 1 tsp Chili Flakes, 1/2 tsp black pepper powder and give it a mix.
4) Now add stir-fried vegetables and boiled pasta, mix everything nicely and lastly add salt as per taste.
5) Give your pasta a nice mix and now add grated cheese, and serve immediately.
